Cathay Pacific is currently recruiting Second Officers through three training programmes. Opportunities exist for aspiring aviators and experienced pilots alike. Ab Initio
(new to the field) Second Officers will undertake a rigorous 61-week training programme. Successful applicants with more aviation experience will complete shorter courses, commensurate with their aviation experience.
Cathay Pacific Second Officers are integral members of the Cathay flight deck crew. Besides being called on to act as a cruise co-pilot, a Second Officer will monitor all facets of the operation to develop a foundation of skills that will support the goal of becoming a Cathay Pacific Captain.
An individual’s suitability to the role is determined at several stages. The selection process will assess discipline and determination, motivation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, academic competencies, technical aptitude and compatibility with corporate philosophy. You will need to pass a thorough medical check.
Successful completion of these assessment stages, as well as aviation experience and performance, will be considered to determine which of our three Second Officer programmes applicants will be awarded. For further details about the position and the application process, please
