Responsbilities:
- Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management Systems program and demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety
- Establish and implement recovery plans in the event that weather, mechanical problems or other factors impact the airline’s operational plan
- Coordinate the actions between Dispatch, Maintenance Control and Commercial Operations during normal and irregular operations
- Delay, cancel and/or reroute flights if unsuitable conditions prevail
- Issue flight forecast condition codes when warranted
- Monitor aircraft movements, input arrival/departure information where required
- Initiate aircraft changes, where required. Ensure established maintenance requirements are maintained
- Monitor crew movements, ensuring crews are in compliance with Company policies, contractual obligations and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs)
- Monitor and cover open flying
- Authorize and execute hotel reservations, deadhead bookings and ticketing for crew travel
- Initiate emergency response procedures as required
- Coordinate with outside agencies
- Prepare log of daily flight operations for OTP report
- Monitor/action No fly/Selectee/SPL queues
- Other duties as assigned and/or department specific
Qualfications:
- 2 to 3 years scheduled airline experience in Operations Control is preferred
- Previous Crew Scheduling airline experience considered an asset
- Experience operating within the bounds of collective agreements considered an asset
- Knowledge of Transport Canada CARs considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skill
- High degree of emotional maturity and ability to operate under stress required
- Adept at problem solving and prioritizing in a multi-faceted type of environment
- Ability to work independently
- Shift work required
