Candian North is currently recruiting a Director, Sales & Community Air Service Development in Yellowknife, Iqualuit or Edmonton.  Competition Number DS0212, closing February 24, 2012

The Director, Sales & Community Air Service Development is responsible for maintaining a strong, professional relationship with business, community and industry clients while working with key strategic accounts across Canada. The incumbent will be responsible for the management and development of the six Sales Managers as well as the creation and development of sales campaigns and management of national sales and Community Air Service Development.

The Director, Sales & Community Air Service Development is responsible for all Canadian North market segments across Canada.

Qualifications:
• Strong background and leadership in Sales Management with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience
• Proven Corporate Sales experience and accomplishments
• Proven negotiation skills
• Exceptional presentation skills
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Excellent organization skills
• Northern experience, considered an asset
• Airline experience, considered an asset
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point

Responsibilities:
• Develop strategies to ignite revenue growth in targeted sectors
• Attract and retain revenue passengers in the Kitikmeot and Qikiqtani regions focusing on Community Air Service Development
• Develop annual budgets, goals and projections and measure results
• Work closely with Capacity Planning Director to ensure corporate accounts and other programs are set up according to established corporate goals
• Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System program and demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety
• Provide direction and support to Sales Team Managers and their accounts
• Analyse and report on sales data
• Extensive travel throughout Northern Canada
