Job Information
Located in Yellowknife and reporting to the Manager, Operations, Safety and Security, the position participates in and takes leadership on projects as agreed, in the development, delivery of training and implementation of airport operations programs that include the security management system, emergency planning programs and the safety management system for the 27 GNWT airports.

The incumbent provides advice and guidance on airport operations, emergency planning, safety and security matters to Senior Management, Regional Airport Managers, Airport Operations own-forces and contract staff and other Divisional and Department personnel to ensure the continued safe and efficient operation of NWT airports.

The knowledge, skills and abilities are typically acquired by possessing Airport Trade credentials or a general Degree or Diploma plus related experience in airport/air carrier/aviation operations such as airport fire fighter, airport security, airfield maintenance specialist, aviation Safety Management System. Must have Airport Safety training, Airport Security training, Emergency Planning courses, and at least three (3) years experience in airport operations.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $43.16 per hour to $51.52 per hour (approximately $84,162 - $100,464) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,450
