Job Description/Job Purpose
The Ottawa Flying Club and it’s subsidiary – The Ottawa Flight College - requires an Operations Manager to be responsible for the overall leadership of company operations, including staff and service administration. The Ottawa Flying Club has an 83 year history at the Ottawa International Airport as a leader in recreational and professional flight training, and is seeking a strong, effective Operations Manager to continue to maintain and build its business.

Role
The role of the Operations Manager is to effectively and efficiently manage the development and direction of the corporation and its staff, and lead the operational team in achieving company objectives, including but not limited to:
• driving growth in revenue;
• maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction;
• maximizing productivity;
• maintaining the integrity of flight operations and training,
• building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders; and
• ensuring the alignment of company operations with strategic plans.

Key qualifications for the General Manager position include:
• Post Secondary diploma or degree in business or aviation (or equivalent).
• Five (5) or more year’s previous management experience (aviation industry experience preferred) with proven leadership abilities in a business environment.
• Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
• Understanding of small business information technology systems and software.
• Ability to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles.
• A clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, and procedures and other operational issues.

The Ottawa Flying Club offers competitive compensation, a stimulating, challenging, and continually changing work environment, and extensive involvement in the aviation community.

The salary for this position is expected to be in the range of $50K to $60K per annum. Additional performance incentives may also be available. This is a full-time position.
