The Calgary Airport Authority is a not-for-profit non share capital
corporation, responsible for the management, maintenance, operation and
development of the Calgary International Airport and Springbank Airport under
long-term leases from the Government of Canada
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, Ground Transportation and Parking,
the successful candidate will manage and administer all ground transportation
services, facilities and operations. Specific responsibilities will include:- Manage the taxi and sedan vehicle operations and activities
through contract development, execution and administration, liaising with
the City of Calgary Taxi Livery Service on taxi standards. Monitor and
enforce all sedan and taxi policies set forth in their contractual
agreement.
- Manage all curbside operations by directing contracted curbside
staff, studying and developing best practice curbside management,
coordinating daily with customer groups and service providers to ensure
operational integrity. Address curbside day to day operational issues.
- Manage the operation of all commercial vehicle lots by
directing contracted staff, developing operational procedures,
implementing, and monitoring and auditing revenue collection procedures.
- Participate in the development and planning of all future
ground transportation facilities required for the new International
Facility.
- Act as liaison with construction contractors with relation to
IFP perhipal projects, as it relates to Ground Transportation such as road
closures, operations planning, detour signage
- Develop and implement strategies to promote ground
transportation operations.
- Act as back-up relief for the Parking Manager.
Basic Requirements
- Strong knowledge of airport operations, specifically as it
relates to ground transportation and parking.
- Previous experience in managing ground transportation and/or
commercial vehicle operations, bus, shuttle, taxi, etc.
- Experience in contract management.
- Excellent oral and written communications, with experience in
writing Request for Proposals (RFP’s), reports, and standard operating
procedures.
- Proven creativity in meeting customer service needs by
developing and implementing new services and solutions
- Class 5 driver’s license
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs, including:
Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience in interpreting and developing commercial vehicle
license agreements.
- Analytical skill set, self-motivated and desire to take
ownership of area of responsibility
- Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a very
diverse environment
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with a
variety of stakeholders
- Note: This position includes compensated non-business hours “On Call”
support duties
