Sunwing is currently recruiting a Duty Manager, Operations Control Centre (Flight Operations), in Toronto, ON

The Duty Manager is responsible to the Manager Operations Control for overseeing and managing the Operations Control Centre including Dispatch, Operations and Crew Scheduling coordination.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Providing flight operational support through Dispatch services including, but not limited to, flight planning, flight watch, weather briefing, and communications as required by Company policy and procedures.
• Ensuring that Flights are safely and efficiently planned and monitored in accordance with established standards and regulations.
• Liaising with Company departments and suppliers.
• Managing the recovery of flight schedules during Irregular Operation (IROP) situations.
• Initiating the Emergency Response Plan when required.
• Overseeing and managing the Company’s flight/ground operations while on shift.
• Coordinating the day of staffing for the OCC.
• Assuming Dispatch duties as required.
• Performing any additional duties as assigned by the MOC.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have passed both of the Transport Canada generic examinations, Meteorology and Operations.
• Clear understanding of operational excellence, quality, health and safety, technical issues and On-Time Performance.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities with a high attention to detail.
• Strong people management skills.
• Must hold a Restricted Radio Telephone Operators Certificate.
• Must meet Transport Canada age requirements.
• Work experience in an Airline Operations Center is an asset.
• Work experience as a Flight Dispatcher is an asset.
• Must be able to work shift work.
