Overview

The TAC Operations Manager is responsible for the alignment and performance of operational teams below the wing, in addition to forecasting and implementing operational programs.  The TAC Operations Manager will support the operational leaders within TAC to create an environment that is focused on safety, developing others, and pro-actively identifying areas of operational opportunity.


Daily Responsibilities Include:

• Complete trending and implementation of safety and corrective action plans to provide recommendations to the TAC Ramp Manager.
• Ensure team compliance to WestJet and Transport Canada safety and security measures as well as all Standard Operating Procedures.
• Identify opportunities within the airport community and facility to enhance operations.
• Forecast, monitor, and review key performance indicators and work with the operational team to develop and implement action plans for improvement.
• Support the operational teams in TAC with the development, communication, and implementation of new initiatives. 
• Work collaboratively with other airport leaders and ACT to respond to employee concerns.
• Ensure team qualifications support operational requirements.
• Monitor the completion of mandatory regulatory items in training and Jetsmarts to ensure compliance.
• Forecast operational training needs to ensure adequate manpower and long term success.
• Work with the Daily Shift Manager team to address process opportunities and issues.
• Model, guide and motivate front line leaders to achieve priorities and take actions to support WestJet’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years leadership experience required in an operationally focused role
• Minimum of 5 years experience with ground operations
• Minimum 3 years experience leading a in a large-scale operation (200+ frontline employees)
• Possess strong operational focus in order to deliver departmental plans and projects on schedule and within budget
• Track record of developing effective leadership teams
• Postsecondary education with a business application is an asset
• Proven track record in leading business operations
• Excellent ability to multitask & handle changing priorities
• Ability to manage multiple leaders simultaneously
• Proficient in PC based applications, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Outlook
