The Winnipeg Airport Authority is currently recruiting a Product Development Specialist

CLOSING DATE: October 4, 2013

Duties:

As part of the Business Development team, this role is central in creating new ideas and products aimed at enhancing customer services and increase revenues for the WAA. Amongst other things, the incumbent will be responsible for collecting information, and providing reports and recommendations for all product development. By working together with the team and other business units, the Product Development Specialist will ensure new initiatives are in line with the corporate goals and objectives while providing new products and/or services to the customers. Key activities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• ·         Formulate, direct, and coordinate all research and development programs
• ·         Introduce new products and processes into overall WAA strategy and makes recommendations for the improvement of existing products and processes
• ·         Maintain knowledge of current trends in the industry
• ·         Provide written analysis and recommendations of new ideas and products

Education & Experience:

• ·         Post-secondary education at a university or community college specializing in marketing, business or merchandising
• ·         One year of experience as a marketing assistant or similar role
• ·         Knowledge of airport operations/processes
• ·         Knowledge of business case development
• ·         Project management experience considered an asset

Requirements:

• ·         Extensive use of design and drawing software as well as knowledge of the printing process is required
• ·         Experience with Adobe creative suite, Adobe Acrobat Distiller, and Microsoft Office / Mac suite
• ·         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with changing priorities and needs
• ·         Entrepreneurial spirit, with a hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves mentality
• ·         Ability to manage uncertainty and the ability to manage risk
• ·         Excellent team player with the ability to build and leverage internal and external alliances and to work effectively
• ·         Demonstrated track record of detail orientation, time management and project management skills
• ·         Strong organizational skills required

WAA may consider an applicant with demonstrated abilities and experience in lieu of a requirement. Condition of employment is the ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Restricted Area Identification Card.
