Allied Wings - Flight Dispatcher
Overview:
The Flight Dispatcher position is
responsible for daily Flying Operations scheduling and dispatch functions under
the supervision of the Flight Operations Supervisor.
Duties and
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Prepare daily flight training
schedules for students enrolled in the flying program
• Dispatch daily flying
missions, including flight following and responding to emergencies as they
arise
• Coordinate the daily flying schedule with the assigned scheduler
•
Manage the Flight Operations Desk, including maintenance of the Aircrew
Information File and other records
• Input data, set up, and maintain flight
plans within the computerized Training Information Management System (TIMS)
•
Coordinate activities with the hangar, maintenance, fuelling and Air Traffic
Control Tower, and ARFF (Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting)
• Other related
duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills required:
• Previous
scheduling and/or dispatcher experience
• Minimum Grade 12 education;
post-secondary preferred
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in
Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Ability to work different shifts
including nights and weekends
• Highly organized and able to function in a
dynamic environment
• Ability to focus on a project to successful completion
and meet deadlines
• Motivated and an effective team contributor
•
Mathematical aptitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•
Strong problem solving ability
• Detail oriented and accurate
• Ability to
obtain Public Works and Government Services Enhanced Reliability Clearance
•
Ability to adapt to military-style protocols
• Bilingual – English/French an
asset

Allied Wings is a consortium led by Kelowna Flightcraft Ltd that includes Canadian Helicopters Ltd, Canadian Base Operators, and Atlantis Systems International Inc. We provide services to the Government of Canada under the Contracted Flying Training and Support Services (CFTS) contract.
Allied Wings provides modern flight training to the Canadian Forces in primary, rotary and multi-engine training. This training involves advanced methodologies of instruction, state of the art courseware and flight simulation; all designed to provide the best training possible for aircrew.
Allied Wings offers primary flying training, multi-engine training and rotary flight training with 36 different courses in those streams. Allied Wings provides ground school instructors, courseware, flight services and the aircraft, while the Canadian Forces provides flying instructors for the multi-engine and rotary wing programs. We also provide new aircraft and simulators, meteorological services, air traffic control, emergency response, and airfield aviation services. We are also responsible for plane and simulator maintenance.
Allied Wings provides 34 aircraft, including Grob G120A aircraft that are used for primary flying training, Raytheon King Air C-90B for multi-engine flying training, Bell 206B III Jet Rangers, and Bell 412 helicopters for multi engine helicopter flying training.
