Boeing Canada is currently recruiting a full-time Employee Development Manager (Vacancy # : 13-116)
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada

Overview:

Manages employees performing activities to research, design, develop, implement/deliver and maintain processes, tools and training to facilitate employee development. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals. Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of
suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers,stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees.

Representative Major Tasks:

  • Applies in-depth understanding of budget management principles and practices to develop and administer project or operating budgets. Ensures work statement is completed on schedule and budget.
  • Coaches, counsels, mentors and provides developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities. Provides on-going developmental feedback. Recognizes contributions of individuals and teams to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Develops and conveys organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of workgroup, project or processgoals. Proactively communicates with employees, peers (e.g., fellow first-level managers), leadership andcustomers. Keeps others informed (e.g., communicating project status, conducting and participating in team meetings, providing presentations and listening to employee concerns and suggestions).
  • Communicates policies and directives to enhance employee awareness of expectations.
  • Systematically evaluates proper job classification of employees, sets employee goals and objectives, manages and evaluates performance to plan on a reoccurring basis. Rewards employees based on performance and contributions. Provides a fair and equitable work environment.
  • Implements policies and procedures to ensure consistent execution of processes within workgroup in support of Boeing and regulatory requirements. Enforces company rules and policies regarding ethical behavior, safety,security, use of company property, time charging, etc.
  • Establishes and manages partnerships and relationships with internal customers, agencies, stakeholders, peers and direct reports.
  • Develops workgroup, project or operational goals, objectives and related metrics to ensure alignment with Companyvision/strategy. Measures progress, making adjustments as needed. Holds direct reports accountable for achieving goals.
  • Implements, deploys and oversees administration of HR policies and procedures in compliance with Company procedures and contractual, professional, international, legal and regulatory requirements. Integrates competing requirements to recommend business solutions.
Competencies:

  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills in building successful teams and demonstrated ability in advising andmotivating staff to meet schedule or resolve technical or operational problems.
  • Must have capability to integrate complex technical projects with demonstrated ability for negotiating, influencing and building collaborative efforts for the success of multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Must have skills in project management, strategic planning, decision making and problem solving.
  • Knowledge of organizational design, behavioral theories, practices, and methods (e.g., psychology, learning theory, and analytical methodology) to improve individual and group level performance.
  • Should have working level knowledge of instructional principles and methodology (e.g. curriculum development, delivery, summary, assessment, remediation, motivation, engagement, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of Human Resource Software (i.e. People Soft).
  • Should have complete knowledge of learning objectives and styles (e.g., audio, kinesthetic, visual) to meet business goals and accommodate learning needs.
  • Prefer demonstrated proficiency in Project Management. Utilizing principles in planning training requirements relating to larger initiatives.
  • Ability to use expertise in a wide variety of areas related to industry and program/product/process workings to provide consulting services to organizations and customers. Ability to coach team members in providing consulting services.
  • Evaluates job structures and processes on how well they contribute to work group objective(s); identifies non-valueadding components and barriers. Engages direct reports and other level managers in evaluation of options for change, and encouraging buy-in.
  • Demonstrates commitment to and takes advantage of diversity. Creates an environment of respect and inclusion.
Education / Experience

  • Must have a high school diploma or recognized Canadian equivalency.
  • Must have relevant post secondary education (i.e. Relevant field of Human Resources)
  • Must have a Certificate in Management or be willing to complete (Equivalent certificates will be considered)
  • 3+ year’s management experience with responsibility for direct reports. Extensive experience in dealing with personnel matters including, employee development and mentorship, performance evaluation and coaching.
  • Experience working within a Human resource department with an understanding on policies principles and practices.
  • Must have experience in Employee Development, Training or Coaching
