Canadian North is currently recruiting  a Full Time Operations Controller for the Calgary, AB Operations Control Centre

Responsibilities:

• ·         Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management Systems program and demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety
• ·         Establish and implement recovery plans in the event that weather, mechanical problems or other factors impact the airline’s operational plan
• ·         Coordinate the actions between Dispatch, Maintenance Control and Commercial Operations during normal and irregular operations
• ·         Delay, cancel and/or reroute flights if unsuitable conditions prevail
• ·         Issue flight forecast condition codes when warranted
• ·         Monitor aircraft movements, input arrival/departure information where required
• ·         Initiate aircraft changes, where required. Ensure established maintenance requirements are maintained
• ·         Monitor crew movements, ensuring crews are in compliance with Company policies, contractual obligations and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs)
• ·         Monitor and cover open flying
• ·         Authorize and execute hotel reservations, deadhead bookings and ticketing for crew travel
• ·         Initiate emergency response procedures as required
• ·         Coordinate with outside agencies
• ·         Prepare log of daily flight operations for OTP report
• ·         Monitor/action No fly/Selectee/SPL queues
• ·         Other duties as assigned and/or department specific

Qualifications:

• ·         2 to 3 years scheduled airline experience in Operations Control is preferred
• ·         Previous Crew Scheduling airline experience considered an asset
• ·         Experience operating within the bounds of collective agreements considered an asset
• ·         Knowledge of Transport Canada CARs considered an asset
• ·         Excellent interpersonal and communications skill
• ·         High degree of emotional maturity and ability to operate under stress required
• ·         Adept at problem solving and prioritizing in a multi-faceted type of environment
• ·         Ability to work independently
• ·         Shift work required
