New Posting - Ledcor

The Resources & Transportation Division of the Ledcor Group encompasses a number of Ledcor businesses including: Summit Air Charters, Summit Helicopters, Aurora Jet Partners, the Vancouver Harbour Flight Centre (VHFC), and an integrated forest products division which procures, processes, stores, and delivers wood fibre (using its own fleet of highway tractors/trailers and tugs/barges) for the power generation, wood pellet, and pulp & paper industries in BC. The division also produces solid wood products, squares and boards, for both domestic and export markets.

Ledcor is seeking a part-time temporary Facilities Coordinator to support our operations at the Vancouver Harbour Flight Centre (VHFC). This position will assist the Marine Facilities Manager in the day-to-day operations of the VHFC, and will cover 20-30 hours per week. We expect the position to continue for approximately 3 months.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Facilities Manager in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the seaplane terminal on a daily basis and effective seaplane operations oversight
  • Assists the Facilities Manager in the supervision of all operator personnel activities within the terminal and on the docks
  • Provides facility orientation and training on fuel system procedures for all operator personnel working at VHFC; monitors performance of personnel
  • Oversees all aspects of the mechanical operation of the facility and operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner at all times
  • Carries out routine maintenance procedures on terminal equipment, dock, and fuel system on a scheduled basis, including minor repairs
  • Maintains fuel deliveries, testing, and inspection of fuel system
  • Liaises with seaplane operators on daily operations, and reports to Facilities Manager
  • Observes and maintains security and public safety according to regulations

Requirements

  • Three years’ experience in aviation or related industry
  • Experience and training in facilities management and maintenance
  • Training in fuel system maintenance, or related experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining the highest safety standards
  • Excellent MS Office knowledge
  • Must meet pre-employment drug & alcohol testing requirements
