Sunwest Aviation has an opportunity available for a Flight Logistics Coordinator within our Flight Logistics Department. This position reports to the Flight Logistics Manager and is responsible to provide a comprehensive flight watch system for all company aircraft combined with a central communication post for maintenance, flight operations and flight coordinators.

• The Logistics Centre will be Sunwest Aviation’s primary point of contact daily from 1700 until 0800 and on weekends. This includes all Operations Centre functions in addition to quoting and booking flights and communicating with customers and outside agencies.
• Maintain a flight watch system to monitor a flight’s progress, provide operational information as requested and notify the appropriate air operator and SAR authorities of overdue or missing flights.
• Ensure aircrew flight and duty files are maintained and current.
• Ensure that all flight crew have checked in and been advised of their flight schedule in accordance with company policies.
• Ensure that updated information is provided to the Crew Scheduler as flights are booked and/or updated and assist with crewing of flights as required.
• Be knowledgeable in all areas of alerting procedures and actions as outlined in the company Emergency Response Manual.
• Provide a high level of customer service to all Sunwest clientele.
• Approve for payment as required of accounting invoices.

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and competencies. In addition, personality profiling will be required of all candidates granted an interview for this position.

• Minimum high school diploma
• Canadian Radio Operator’s Licence is preferred
• Prior experience in flight coordination is not required; however prior aviation experience is considered an asset
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software is considered an asset
• Ability to work in a very high paced environment with solid problem solving skills
• Ability to think critically and act logically to evaluate situations
• Attention to detail and accuracy is imperative
• Must be able to communicate well with clients
• Must work well within a team environment
• Must be able to work 12 hour rotating shifts
