We are seeking a GROUND SERVICES MANAGER to join our team in
Saskatoon. As the Ground Services Manager, you will be responsible for the
coordination, and supervision of all aircraft grooming, ground handling and
associated activities while maintaining high standards of safety, on time
performance and customer service. Primary responsibilities include:
Effective and efficient operation of the department which includes safe movement
of company aircraft in the hangar and on the ramp areas, baggage handling
services, grooming of aircraft, preheating of aircraft services and de-icing,
customer service, maintenance of inventory and supplies, operation of Company
internal mail, development and maintenance of procedural documents as well as
continuous improvement initiatives.
Liase with the Facility Coordinator to
ensure cleanliness of building and grounds.
Ensuring ground support
vehicles and equipment are operated in a safe and secure manner including
reporting of mechanical difficulties.
Responsible for safety and quality
assurance within the department ensuring West Wind Aviation standards are met.
This will also involve Safety Management system responsibilities.
Management of ground services employees including day to day supervision, shift
scheduling, training, and performance management.
Workforce planning
including determining staff requirements, recruitment, selection and retention
activities.
As the successful candidate you possess the following:
Ability to adapt, plan, organize, supervise and manage within ever changing
day-to-day operations with strong communication skills.
Strong leadership
skills with previous management experience.
Employment or training in
aviation would be considered an asset.
Strong mechanical
aptitude.
