Role: The Operations Manager is a key person in charge of all operational functions of the de-icing center reporting to the General Manager. He is a resource person for all the employees and assumes all the responsibilities of the station in the absence of the General Manager. He maintains a rigorous follow up on all operational tasks for best operational results and progression of the business. He makes sure that all procedures and standards are followed by the employees. At all-time he displays leadership, demonstrates respect towards his employees and colleagues and leads by example.
Employee Management
- Ensures enforcement of the corporate policies (code of conduct, attendance policy, uniform policy, etc.).
- Manages disciplinary files and ensures a follow up on any employee misconduct.
- Is responsible for the hiring process of the staff assigned to the de-icing operations (posting and interviews).
- Is responsible for the annual performance evaluations of the Tower personnel, Operations Supervisors and Technicians
- Follows up on the training and qualifications for the CTM’s, Operation Supervisors and technicians in collaboration with the Head Trainer.
- Manages incentive programs (gas cards, monthly employee of the month program, irregular operations meals, etc.).
- Is responsible to offer and maintain a safe work environment and follows up on safety policies and standards.
- Participates in the Health and Safety committee meetings.
Operations Management:
- Organises operations briefing and debriefing meetings.
- Participates in the Daily Airport weather conference call.
- Participates in the Weekly Operation meeting conducted by the General Manager and the DO’s
- Follows up on all tasks conducted by CTM, Operations Supervisors and Technicians.
- Supervises and manages the de-Icing operations, maintenance activities and snow removal.
- Manages and distributes the radios, camera and refractometers.
- Follows up on the ratio board and vehicle repair board.
- Monitors and follows up the diesel reservoir inventory.
- Evaluates the de-icing apron conditions and the snow depot conditions.
- Glycol Management (Receptions, tests, ratios, inventory, filling stations, recovery and distribution).
