    This full-time, permanent position reports directly to the Director of Operations of the Deer Lake Regional Airport Authority Inc. (DLRAAI) and is a key position in the management and operation of the Deer Lake Regional Airport. The Manager of Safety, Security, and Regulatory Affairs (MSSRA) plays the lead role in the delivery, coordination, administration and management of all safety and security related programs, services, and training. As a member of the management team, the MSSRA is responsible to ensure the Airport Authority is in compliance with all operational regulatory requirements including the Safety Management System (SMS) and the Security Management System (SeMS). He/she will participate in the management budgetary process and oversee expenditures associated with safety and security programs and activities.

    The ideal candidate will have graduated from a post-secondary institution and acquired a professional designation or diploma/certificate in a related field and have a minimum of 5 years experience in airport management and knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations. Candidates must possess advanced managerial and communications skills and be capable of functioning in a progressive, evolving and dynamic industry. The successful individual will be a team player and able to interact effectively with other members of the management team, staff, members of the Board of Directors, tenants, suppliers, contractors, regulatory agencies, industry officials, and the general public. He/she will have the ability to research, analyze, and evaluate information to make informed decisions and solve problems in a wide range of situations. Proficiency in computer software programs used in both office and technical applications is required. The candidate will be self-motivated, highly organized, attentive to detail and flexible to work in excess of a regular schedule. A valid driver’s license is essential.
