The Red Deer Airport Authority (RDAA) is looking for individuals who are highly motivated self-starters, work well with minimal supervision and are willing to learn and contribute to the team.

PRIMARY FUNCTION
Working as part of the RDAA Operations Team the Airport Operations Specialist (AOS) ensures airport operations continue in a safe, secure, efficient, and effective manner. The duties and qualifications required of the AOS Position include a wide variety of runway, structures, grounds and equipment maintenance duties.


This position reports to the Airport Operations Manager and requires shift work, including evenings, weekends and overtime when required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Interview preference will be given to those candidates with Airport Operations/Maintenance and Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic qualifications. RDAA will provide additional required training to the right candidate to meet the Airport Operations Specialist standard. All relevant education and experience will be considered when evaluating candidates. Candidates called for an interview will be asked to bring a copy of any required certifications including a current Drivers Abstract and a RCMP Criminal Records Check.  Legally able to work in Canada.
 Grade 12 graduate Diploma, or equivalent.
 Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English.
 Working knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, and standards; Airport plans, directives, procedures and policies with respect to airport safety, operations, maintenance, and emergency
response.
 Possess, obtain and maintain a valid Class 3 Alberta Drivers Licence with air brake endorsement.
 Obtain and maintain a Transport Canada Transportation Security Clearance.
 Obtain and maintain an Aeronautical Radio Operator’s license and a RDAA Vehicle Operators
Permit.
 Possess appropriate licenses/certifications/knowledge to operate airport surface maintenance
equipment.
 Ability to operate light to heavy/specialized equipment.
 Possess a basic working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, roofing painting, masonry, sheet metal,
HVAC, welding, or heavy-duty mechanic trades so that they may complete maintenance and
repairs in a safe and efficient manner.
