SunWing is currently recruiting a Crew Scheduling Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure safety is the primary objective by adhering to the Sunwing safety policy and utilizing the appropriate safety reporting program in order to identify and communicate all known hazards and risks to the organization
• Ensuring continual improvement through the periodic review of documented policies, processes, and procedures
• Supervise Crew Scheduling
• Prepare the staff shift schedule ensuring adequate scheduling personnel coverage is provided
• Handle issues and questions that the schedulers have including after hour queries
• Deal with crew issues that fall outside of the schedulers range
• Long Term System Updates for the Current Roster period
• Ensure any violations that may occur are cleared up and made legal in advance
• Train new schedulers on government rules and employee agreements
• Train new schedulers in AIMS
• Recurrent training for existing schedulers, i.e. CAP371 and EU Ops
• Verify that no crew training has been cancelled, and if it has re-schedule it in accordance with the expiries
• Watch for expiries that may flag during the current roster period and liaise with the appropriate department
• Plan and manager the crew schedule rosters- to be approved by the manager
• Duty day extensions
• Additional tasks as assigned by the Manager, Crew Scheduling

QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ years of airline operational experience preferred
• 2+ years of leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to mentor and motivate team members using outstanding people skills
• Expert knowledge of: Canadian Air Regulations (CARS), Civil Aviation Authority (CAP 371) Regulations, and European Union Regulations
• Knowledge of AIMS Crew Scheduling Applications is an asset
• Work well under pressure, perform and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
• Post secondary education is an asset
• Willing to work a 12-hr day shift; 4 days on/4 days off
• Strong internal customer focus
• Excellent problem-solving skills; able to apply creative solutions having a positive impact on results
• Recognized ability to work under pressure, handle stressful situations and maintain flexibility
• Ability to respond quickly to situations and seize opportunities
• Able to influence, convince and create mutually acceptable solutions in the context of conflicts
