American Eagle Airlines, Inc. (American Eagle) is a regional airline network owned by AAG the parent company of American Airlines, and is based in Fort Worth, Texas. American Eagle is one of the largest regional airlines in the world, serving cities throughout the continental United States, Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
American Eagle Airlines is currently seeking a seasoned General Manager to manage our Toronto station. The Toronto is a complex 26 flight a day operation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for 4 direct reports including 90 indirect reports including ramp agents.
Develops and directs service programs to insure optimum product development in Cargo, Reservations, CTO and ATO. Implements procedures to insure safe and on-time movement of aircraft through the stations. Consults with airport management to discuss and plan such matters as design and development of local airport facilities. Confers and cooperates with upper management in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures. Analyzes records of daily operations to maintain knowledge of facility activities. Reviews and analyzes expenditure, financial and operations reports to determine requirements for increasing profits. Prepares recommendations on findings for upper management evaluation. Recommends capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment which would increase efficiency and services. Approves requisitions for equipment, materials and supplies within limits of facility budget. Enforces compliance of personnel with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and governmental regulations. Coordinates activities with community, regulatory agencies, other stations and headquarters staff. Directs investigations into causes of internal and external complaints relating to the facility. May negotiate contracts with equipment and material suppliers. May negotiate with union representatives. May act as representative before government commissions or regulatory bodies during hearings. Represents facility before civic groups.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in operational phases of airline. Ramp experience a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of industry including key personnel
- Proven leadership and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Some college course work desirable
- Successful completion of the Airport Manager Development Program
- Must be able to read, write and fluently speak and understand the English language
- Must fulfill background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas
- Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges
- Requires comprehensive Transport Canada background and/or fingerprint checks to satisfy security requirements
