North Cariboo Air is currently recruiting a UNICOM Radio Operator, Flight Operations, in Kirby Lake. Scope • Provide information to help pilots to safely land and take-off from CRL4 • Stay in contact with pilots during their flights when in Communication Range • Communicate safety updates to Airport Manager, Equipment Operators, Ramp Personnel, Pilots and OCC • Control vehicle and pedestrian access to Runways and restricted areas • Provide local weather information and airport advisory services • Initiate search and rescue activities for missing or overdue aircraft • Initiate ERS for aircraft accidents or incidents • Provide local weather information and airport advisory services • Ongoing Training of Radio Operators and other Radio Operator Certificate Holders if certified to do so. Role and Responsibilities • The Radio Operator Shall provide Preferred/Active Runway, Wind, Altimeter and Aircraft Traffic information to all arriving and departing aircraft • The Radio operator Shall approve or deny radio requests to enter Runways and restricted areas • Ensure accuracy of communication read backs from pilots and ground staff • Provide daily reports to OCC prior to aircraft departure form point of origin on current Aerodrome Movement Surface Conditions, NOTAMS, AWOS and observed weather conditions • Co-ordinate daily safety meetings and tailgate meetings • Opening and closing of the terminal on a timely basis, and ensuring the cleanliness of terminal building. • Assist the Airport Manager in maintaining and developing required documentation • All other duties as required, and reports directly to Aerodrome Manager Qualifications • Previous or Current Air Traffic Services Experience (Air Traffic Control, Flight Service Specialist, Operational Support Staff), or previous or current Transport Canada Certified Dispatcher Experience, or previous or currently licensed pilot • Industry Canada Restricted Radio Operator’s Certificate • Ability to lead, coach and mentor Radio Operator Certificate Holders • Ability to work independently and within a team environment. • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills. • Ability to react quickly to ever changing operations. • Safety minded • Above average Communication Skills Preferred Skills - Good business acumen. - Ability to work independently and within a team environment. - Must have excellent management, communication and organizational skills. - Must be willing and able to pass a Devon Drug & Alcohol test Department : Flight Operations Position: UNICOM Radio Operator Terms of Employment: Permanent/Full Time Positions Available: 1 Company Name: North Cariboo Air Location: Kirby Lake Country: Canada Web address: http://www.flynca.com Email address: careers@flynca.com Apply via: Email (Please specify "Radio Operator, Kirby Lake" in the subject line of email) Closing Date: Monday, February 17, 2014
