Overview:
The YMM TAC Manager is responsible for the alignment and performance of operational teams below the wing, in addition to forecasting and implementing operational programs. The TAC Manager will support the operational Agents within TAC to create an environment that is focused on safety, developing others, and pro-actively identifying areas of operational opportunity.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Responsible for the manpower planning and ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet operational need; including forecasting operational training needs to ensure adequate manpower and long term success.
  • Oversight of TAC De-icing operation, including completion of audits during winter operations and responsibility of Station Deice Management Plan.
  • Complete required Audits with TAC, including debriefs and coaching.
  • Complete trending and implementation of safety and corrective action plans to provide recommendations to the Station Manager.
  • Provide coaching, feedback and performance reviews for all direct reports through the use of WestJet management practices and processes.
  • Ensure team compliance to WestJet, Encore and Transport Canada safety and security measures as well as all Standard Operating Procedures; including monitoring training completion of mandatory regulatory items.
  • Complete incident/accident investigations and AQD/IHR reports in accordance with WestJet/Encore and Airports procedures with support from Shift Lead or Station Manager.
  • Implement safety and culture initiatives.
  • Communicate process failures/flaws and facility or GSE related issues to the Station Manager, working to facilitate effective solutions.
  • Forecast, monitor and review key performance indicators and implement action plans for improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with ACT to respond to employee concerns.
  • Participate in projects related to operational improvements, as required.

Qualifications:
  • 3-6 years airline operations experience required in an operationally focused role
  • Minimum 3 years experience in airline ground operations experience required; WestJet and Encore experience an asset
  • 2 years Leadership experience an asset
  • Exhibits strong safety focus
  • Possess strong operational focus in order to deliver departmental/operational information in a timely effective manner
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of frontline employees; including coaching and mentoring
  • Proven communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and handle changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to make operational decisions in time sensitive situations
  • Proficient in PC based applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent personal OTP
  • Proven history of effecting change through influence
  • Ability to work flexible hours/days of week
