General Responsibility
The Calgary Airport Test Manager position is a hands-on job requiring excellent organizational, Managerial and communication skills. The Calgary Airport Test Manager helps our client grow by satisfying the needs of our clients within North America, and is critical to the success of the Calgary Airport Project.
This position is responsible for the planning, coordination, development, documentation and performance of all testing required for the new baggage handling system being installed for the Calgary airport. This will include Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of sub supplier systems at the sub supplier locations prior to their arrival and implementation on site. This position is a key point of responsibility and coordination for the Calgary Project management team, insuring that all vendors understand the testing protocols, their documentation and their execution.
Responsibilities
  • Investigate and understand the contract documents in terms of testing and documentation.
  • Investigate and understand our clients Installation Test Planning (ITP) methodology and insure its implementation and performance.
  • Develop and maintain close relations with our client’s project team in order to coordinate overall activities.
  • Generate and merge necessary scheduling of testing on and off site to fulfill project scheduling.
  • Educate and coordinate with sub suppliers to insure their understanding of the process and to insure that their progress and deliverables are in accordance with project requirements.
  • Review and coordinate testing requirements with other site test managers to insure best practices and improved results.
  • Tracking, coordination and management of the ITP project plan, and reporting to our clients Project team.
  • Insure that vendors provide necessary documentation and reporting to facilitate the ITP process
  • Responsible for the structure/creation/establishing of standards
  • Provides timely feedback to Project management regarding performance.
  • Maintains accurate records of all tests, results, participants and action items.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • May be assigned to special projects or required to perform other duties not listed above, which may vary from time to time as determined by management, to meet company needs.
Requirements/Skills and Abilities
Required:
  • Degree BS Engineering, Or Equivalent expertise
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in Airport environments
  • Cross cultural relationships would be key to building bridges and enhancing relationships
  • Very hands-on and roll up your sleeves type of individual
  • Presentation skills
  • Research and Report writing skills
  • Problem solving and decision making
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals.
  • Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
  • Excellence in time management; Attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly;
  • Excellence in communication (both verbal and written)
  • Excellence in handling multiple tasks and work well under pressure; sense of both urgency and thoroughness
  • Professional, positive, and energetic attitude;
Desired:
  • High degree of computer literacy, including use of various software tools; Experience in MS Word, Power Point, Excel, email
  • Languages beneficial.
