MANAGER RAMP OPERATIONS - Located in Winnipeg, MB 4:00pm to Midnight Monday to Friday

JOB SUMMARY 


FedEx located in Winnipeg is seeking a Manager Ramp Operations. In this role , you will be required t o lead, train and develop ramp staff in all policies and procedures adhering to FAA, Ramp Advisory Board, local airport authority and internal/exteranl audit guidelines. Balances safety and procedures with efficient loads/offloads of various aircrafts to achieve maximum service objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Develops, coaches and trains staff for ramp operations.
  • Sc hedules staffing models to meet all safety requirements while offloading/on loading aircraft.
  • Performs quarterly audits for trunk, feeder and internal/external audit inspections including maintaining documentation.
  • Ensures adherence to policies and regulations through the initiative of corrective action and developing revised systems.
  • Ensures all aspects of ground support are accounted for by communicating and working with all respective governing bodies, organisations and required individuals (includes but not limited to: global operations control, ramp advisory board , airport, fire, GSE maintenance, Transport Canada and FAA officials) in the due course of maintaining relationships and conformity to local and federal regulations.
  • Researches package movement and updates scans/ traces to ensure the customer and customer service have timely and accurate information as to the status of package movement.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with interline shipping organizations who move freight on FedEx’s behalf and ensures that they comply with the FedEx standard.
  • Supports corporate, station and workgroup goals, emphasizing the People Service Profit philosophy. Keeps employees informed of personnel and operating procedures and ensures their uniform/consistent application and administration.
  • Please note: Successful placement in the position is contingent on the applicant passing the Transport Canada, RCMP and CSIS assessment which is based on 5 years verifiable background info.

REQUIREMENTS 
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • 4 years business experience with a minimum of 2 years in Ramp operations a strong asset.
  • 2 years previous management experience preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record ( no more than 2 moving violations in the preceding 24 months )
  • Demonstrated communication skills, people oriented.
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs. and to maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs. with appropriate equipment or assistance of another person.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery.
  • Ability to prepare and process Canadian customs paperwork.
  • Knowledge of loading/unloading procedures preferred.
  • Working knowledge of FAA and MOT regulations preferred.
  • Basic level proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Intermediate level proficiency in Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of FAA and MOT regulations preferred.
