Ornge Air currently has a vacancy for an Investigations Coordinator within the Aviation Safety Department.
POSITION STATUS: Permanent fulltime
LOCATION: Mississauga, ON
REPORTING TO: Manager, Aviation Safety
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of the Ornge Air team, the Aviation Safety Investigations Coordinator will provide demonstrated leadership for assigned Investigations, ensuring that all aviation activities are conducted in compliance with all applicable status and that safety is ensured in all endeavors for both rotary and fixed wing aircraft in the province of Ontario.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Actively investigate occurrences including requests raised by the senior management, and ensure they are documented to the appropriate standard depending on the overall Risk assessment;
• Manage day to day Safety reports in Ornge Air’s SMS reporting system;
• Promote and foster open communications on Safety Management System initiatives across the organization;
• Research, recommend and document Corrective actions to be used across the organization to improve safety;
• Review root cause analysis to ensure findings are relevant and appropriate;
• Develop Monthly Investigations reports ;
• Preparing trend analysis to identify areas of concern;
• Present data analysis and findings to a variety of audiences including technical and non-technical personnel, through graphical representation and modeling;
• Participate as a audit team member in Ornge Safety audits both internal and external.
• Liaise with third party vendors as required, and
• Other duties assigned the Manager, Aviation Safety and the Director, Aviation Safety
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Post-secondary Education Required
• Minimum 5 years of relevant operational aviation experience in investigations and compliance environments.
• Strong understanding of the aviation regulatory system;
• Sound understanding of Safety Management Systems principles and application;
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills: experience with leading meetings, delivering presentations, preparing correspondence, writing reports, etc;
• Ability to establish and effectively manage numerous priorities and meet deadlines;
• Proficiency in the utilization of MS Office Suite;
• Analytical, creative and critical thinker, ability to develop solutions and execute plans;
• Strong planning and organizational skills;
• Ability to work both independently and as a team member;
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
