Job Description:
SkyNorth Air is looking for a King Air Captain for dedicated air ambulance operations. Air ambulance flight crew operate on a seven day on, seven day off schedule from bases in Garden Hill, Manitoba and Thompson. Fully equipped accommodations at both base(s) provided by SkyNorth Air. Arrangements / accommodations not supplied in Winnipeg - employees are expected to arrange their own living situation in Winnipeg. Employment requires on call, day/night as per 7 day rotation indicated above. In addition, flight crew will be required to be available for ongoing training consistent with the operation (i.e. recurrent flight training, ground school, CRM, CPR, etc.) in addition to their normal rotation. Administration and maintenance head offices are located in Winnipeg.
Job Duties:
General flight preparation and responsibilities consistent with the operation of a turbine airplane, including but not limited to: assuming the responsibilities of Pilot-in-Command/working in co-operation with a First Officer with all aspects related to the safe operation of an airplane, piloting of aircraft, aircraft grooming, elementary maintenance, aircraft record keeping, communication with company dispatch, assisting AMS (aeromedical specialist) staff where required and general flight crew service duties. Pilots are expected to be professionally accountable and self disciplined individuals who keep themselves knowledgeable with respect to their aircraft and all regulations concerning our operations. SkyNorth Air believes in a complete concept of total crew involvement to operate safely and efficiently. As such, we operate our aircraft in a two crew environment with strict adherence to company SOPs.
Experience Required:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a Canadian Airline Transport Pilots License (ATPL-A) and valid CAT 1 Medical, and be fully eligible to work in Canada. In addition, candidates must be able to obtain a Canadian Airport Authority Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC). Candidates must also clear a Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check for Manitoba Provincial licensing. Minimum 1800 hours total flight time with 500 hour Multi-PIC is a baseline requirement. Preference will be given to individuals with pressurized turbine or Northern/bush experience, and PT6 time.
Salary Range:
Captains earn $60,000 - $66,000/year utilizing a base pay and incentive mileage program. Pay increases commensurate with experience, as per published pay scale. Mileage formula, per diem and additional overtime pay also in effect following satisfactory demonstration of initial line-indoc.
After one year, Captains generally earn approx $70,000/year. Benefits including full dental, health and life insurance as well as a group RRSP plan available to all employees. This Captain position will require a commitment of 12 months of active flight line duties following initial ground school, flight training, and line indoc.
