We currently have an opening for a Director, Business Development Central & East (YYZ).
JOB PURPOSE:
To drive the growth of all lines of business across both the Central and Eastern regions by acquiring new Charter, HondaJet and Managed Aircraft. To generate and nurture leads in order to achieve new business development targets.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
To generate revenue by procuring new customers:
- Builds and leverages networks to prospect and obtain referrals to build new relationships;
- Identifies potential customers and nurtures leads proactively to expand customer base;
- Develops and administers promotional initiatives that support lead generation and nurturing;
- Prepares and delivers proposals and presentations to capture new business;
- Assumes ownership of all aspects of the sales cycle including cold calling to achieve and exceed sales targets;
- Transitions newly acquired customers to relationship owners for service delivery (e.g., Flight Services, Charter Coordination).
To maximize profits through pricing strategies and negotiating techniques:
- Ensures proposals address prospective client’s needs;
- Negotiates deals that provide for desired margins while remaining competitive;
- Uses different techniques to influence the prospect while maintaining the integrity of the business;
- Works closely with other key team members to ensure proposal budgets are appropriate and realistic.
To develop and execute on sales strategies for both regions:
- Analyzes market opportunities and trends, providing market feedback to company leadership regarding competition, offerings, prospect needs and product development ideas;
- Builds strategies for capitalizing on market opportunities;
- Monitors and reports on key market and sales metrics including pipeline status, close rates and lost opportunities, making recommendations to improve performance as necessary;
- Continuously evaluates sales model and approaches to identify best practices;
- Collaborates with maintenance as well as other key internal resources to develop integrated sales and promotion strategies that support the growth of all business areas;
- Coaches and directs the sales efforts at YUL, working collaboratively on Quebec based opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 8 – 10 years’ experience in a progressive sales roles within the aviation industry;
- Significant track record in exceeding sales targets and new client acquisition in competitive market environments;
- Experience selling directly to C-level targets or equivalent;
- Superior presentation, influence, relationship and negotiating skills; and
- Collaborative.
EDUCATION:
- Post-secondary education. A degree or diploma in sales, marketing and/or aviation is considered an asset.
