The Vancouver Airport Authority has an opportunity for a Manager, Technology Services in the Information Technology (IT) Department with a specific focus on enterprise solutions. Reporting to the Director, Technology Services, the successful candidate will lead the efforts to develop the processes and tools used to provide corporate services. Corporate services are primarily focused across multiple internal departments. Examples include inventory management, payroll processing, financial reporting and maintenance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to and owning the development of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program and integrated project schedule (roadmap) that encompasses all aspects of the ERP program
- Managing multi-million dollar capital and operating budgets efficiently and responsibly
- Overseeing the work a team of Business and Technical Analysts by ensuring that both day-to-day and project work is being managed appropriately
- Providing direction to a team of Business and Technical Analysts which includes monitoring work efforts and performance, coaching, motivating and supporting developmental activities
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with customers
- Facilitating and providing guidance to senior management level steering committee for ERP program
- Participating in departmental budget planning and management
- Negotiating and managing vendor contracts
- Building relationships with end-user community and other IT groups to ensure systems’ operational efficiency and stability
Key qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Strong management and supervisory skills with demonstrated ability to:
- Set priorities, assign resources and achieve milestones
- Coach, motivate, evaluate and performance manage staff
- Minimum five years of recent experience managing multiple staff who are in turn managing numerous individual projects
- Solid and extensive Tier-1 ERP implementation, sustainment and maintenance experience
- Experience in Oracle EBS and Maximo considered an asset
- A strong analyst with an excellent operations understanding, you will be able to plan, present, lobby for and execute upgrades and improvements to critical business enterprise systems
- A broad knowledge and understanding of information technology in order to communicate effectively with subject matter experts
- A broad knowledge of all aspects of project management, computer systems and various business applications including Human Resources, Finance & Accounting, Knowledge Management, Document Management, Maintenance and Sales & Marketing, are also valued
- Solid relationship building skills with all levels of an organization, both internally and externally
- Team player with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and proven experience managing and coaching teams for high performance
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing, in order to understand requirements, allocate work, provide updates and report on results
- Must be able to work in a 24 x 7 environment with a willingness to adapt to business needs
