Swissport Canada-Ramp Agents (Vancouver Int'l Airport) Job Opportunity: Ramp Agent Location: Vancouver International Airport Reporting To: Ramp Supervisor Date Available: Immediately Salary: $ 10.87/hour with raises starting at 12 months.
Role: To provide all necessary and required below-wing ground support services as contracted by the customer to include but not be limited to loading and unloading baggage and cargo, marshalling, water, operating equipment, and lavatory servicing.
Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading the baggage, cargo, mail, and commissary, whether palletized,
containerized and/or bulk loaded, and conveyance of same to or from designated areas.
- Marshall aircraft during arrival and departure.
- Service water carts and toilet systems of all aircraft.
- Operate safely and efficiently all types of equipment and vehicles.
- After training perform push out service.
- Inspect baggage for proper tagging.
- Inspect ramp areas adjacent to gate and aircraft for debris (FOD) and remove/dispose of when found.
- Assist every passenger when possible.
- Scan baggage tags.
- Communicate with Airport Authority and the Airline..
- General knowledge of Airline and Airport codes.
- Operate all associated computer systems.
- Any other duties associated with this job classification.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid Class 5 drivers license
- Must have Canadian citizenship or a valid Permanent Residence card
- Must be able to attain and maintain security clearance from Transport Canada
- No work experience necessary
- Internal and external customer relations skills
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
