Position Description
The Quality / SMS Manager is responsible for the Pacific Sky Quality Assurance program and for the oversight of the company SMS program covering the 604 Private Operations, 406 and Simulator Flight Training Operations, and AMO.
Reporting Relationships
The position reports to the General Manager of Training and Simulation, with direct accountability to the CEO / Accountable Executive for the Pacific Sky Aviation company SMS program.
Specific Accountabilities include:
• Establish and maintain the company Quality Assurance and SMS Programs. Ensure manuals are compliant with regulatory requirements, are current and are amended as needed to reflect actual operational practices.
• Ensure all Quality Assurance requirements are conducted in accordance with company manuals.
• Acts as Chair Person for the Quality System Review meetings to oversee Hazard Reporting, Risk Analysis, root cause analysis and action item closure.
• Ensuring operational compliance with current regulations, standards, manuals, and operating procedures.
• Act as the primary focal point for all regulatory agencies for approvals, qualifications and certifications. Manages internal and external audits and corrective actions.
• Oversee the approval and monitoring of Approved Vendors. Conduct audit activity as required by company policy.
• Train company personnel on SMS and Quality system requirements. Develop and manage a company Safety Awareness program.
• Ensure personnel training standards are established and that training records are current to ensure that training is completed as required. Maintain a list of individuals with certifying authority.
• Ensure all maintenance work conducted by the AMO is in accordance with the MPM and MCM. Ensure maintenance records, tooling calibration records, service difficulty reports and internal audit reports are completed and processed in accordance with company policy. Ensure that components, parts and materials used in maintenance are properly certified.
• Inform all staff of any changes to applicable regulations and standards.
• Receiving, implementing, and disseminating information, which impacts safety and maintaining a current training operations library.
• Responsible for the company Emergency Response Plan and periodically testing the effectiveness of the plan.
• Support and implement the Pacific Sky strategic and business objectives. Contribute positively to the culture, growth and strategic direction of the company.
• Assume the GM duties and responsibilities during times of absence, when assigned by the GM.
Requirements:
• Track record of success in an aviation Quality Assurance and SMS environment.
• Experience in conducting internal and external audits.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in writing and maintaining company manuals as required.
• Able to engage others in the pursuit of organizational vision and goals.
• High energy level and service orientation.
Salary: Commensurate with experience
