Position Title: Maintenance Planner

Reporting to Manager, Planning and Technical RecordsDepartment: MaintenanceBase: YYZ/YULType of Employment: Permanent/Full Time Working Pattern: 5 and 2

Job SummaryThis position is accountable for planning/scheduling the maintenance activities for the Sky Regional fleet of aircraft, ensuring that the maintenance plans for assigned tails meet all lease, contract, manufacturer and regulatory requirements and that commercial considerations are factored into all maintenance plans.


Key Areas of Responsibility Description 1 Forecasting / Scheduling• Produce, review and update on a weekly basis a 90 day maintenance plan for routine maintenance taking into account the AMP, Airworthiness requirements and aircraft utilization • Assist/Produce, review and update as required the long term maintenance plans for Heavy checks and fleet campaigns (i.e.: propeller overhauls, engine mount overhaul programs, engine removal plan etc.)• Produce and distribute weekly aircraft forecasts (due lists) covering 1000FH/1000FC and 120 day period• Produce and distribute weekly rotable part forecasts (due lists) covering 1000FH/1000FC and 120 day period• Identify downtime for each aircraft, advise other stakeholders, resolve scheduling issues and develop agreements• On a weekly basis Co-ordinate all maintenance planning requirements, aircraft flight/fin assignments and interface with required departments and contracted AMO for required downtime • Escalate unresolved scheduling issues to the manager2 Planning • Produce/Update/review routine maintenance work packages on a weekly basis, add and/or transfer work based on aircraft utilization, downtime and manpower availability• Distribute prepared Work Packages for Base Maintenance on a Weekly Basis• Picklist all required Parts weekly for the following weeks scheduled work• Coordinate with MOC and/or QA, Purchasing and Stores for AD, SB and Mod embodiment and repair requirements for each assigned aircraft• Effectively coordinate planning with YYZ/YUL and outstation bases and resolve issues or escalate to manager as required3 Systems • Update systems with AMP revisions, review and update aircraft compliance as required• Assist with AD/SB Assessment, loading into system for forecasting, update compliance as required • Review/update part controls/ PN EC’s and EC’s as required• Assist with accurately updating/building complex assemblies • (engines/APU’s and Gear)4 Teamwork • Attend the Daily Maintenance Briefing, identify, and resolve any scheduled conflict• When required, research material/tooling requirements for scheduled work and update systems with accurate information• Assist with aircraft data research and corrections as required• Assist with maintenance program AMP amendments when requested/delegated by the DOE/Manger Planning and Technical Records• Load/oversee new aircraft historical data entry to systems5 Other• Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities• Demonstrates an understanding of safety issues and actively support the Safety Management Systems program as required by Transport Canada.• Effectively communicate in writing and in person with internal/external stakeholders• Work collaboratively with colleagues in Planning and Records, as well as stakeholders in other departments• Organize/prioritize workload and ensure efficient use of time to achieve all objectives within deadlines• Achieve service level agreements with internal and/or external customers.• Excellent computer skills; MSOffice (Excel, Power Point, Word, Access and Outlook), Adobe, MS Project, Netline, Trax and/or Quantum Control• Ability to handle various tasks at onceEducation, Certifications and Work Experience • 4 years previous planning experience and/or 3 years Technical Records Experience in an aviation or FBO Environment; understanding of company policies, manual and applicable regulations • Knowledge of Q400 and EMB Type aircraft an asset• High School graduation.
