The Vancouver Airport Authority has a permanent, full-time opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Clerk in the Finance Department.  Reporting to the Manager, Accounting Services, the successful candidate will interpret, set up and ensure the on-going maintenance of various concession leases.

Key responsibilities include:  
  • Interpretation, set up and on-going maintenance of concession leasing: retail, food & beverage, and related storage
  • Set up and maintaining promo charges related to concession leases
  • Verification and production of monthly percentage rent billing related to concession leases, including liaising with tenants regarding their percentage calculation and preparation of manual adjustments
  • Preparing monthly commercial aeronautical billings
  • Preparing concession lease set up, billings and reconciliations
  • Conducting variance analysis between lease documents and space inventory
  • Performing manual reconciliations of revenue increases/decreases
  • Acting as a liaison with customers and internal departments regarding billing changes and disputes
  • Preparing monthly lease billings/adjustments
  • Assisting in month end closing procedures, as well as, providing accrual numbers for various G/L items
  • Assisting in other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Key requirements include:
  • Completion of a two to three year certificate or diploma in an accounting or related administrative program  
  • Ability to interpret contractual agreements
  • Well-developed analytical skills obtained through previous work experience
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and Word
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work with multiple priorities under a tight deadline
  • Ability to format and extract information from large data sources
  • Excellent customer relations, diplomacy and communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Experience using Propworks is an asset
