Airports Engineer/Project Manager - Cambridge

Key Responsibilities
- Supporting our Airports Civil Engineering Team, we are looking for a self-motivated team member to help grow our aviation business and manage projects
- Lead role in project engineering and detail design activities (Scheduling, Drawing checks, I/O development, development, purchasing, construction coordination, commissioning and start up assistance, develop client relationships)
- Oversee and mentor design work
- Work includes projects at Canadian and International airports across the world
- Condition Assessment and cost estimating
- Prepare design calculations and review technical design drawings for compliance with guidelines, codes and other regulations
- Package up the rough concept for execution by others
- Follow in house drafting procedures
- Play a lead role taking projects from concept to start-up managing project controls on an ongoing basis
- Manage multiple projects and priorities
- Mentoring and training of less senior colleagues
- Support development of business with new and existing clients and assist in growth of the business
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Registration (P.Eng) or ability to qualify for Professional Registration in Ontario and other jurisdictions across Canada
- 10 years or more of experience in civil transportation engineering
- Specific experience at airports would be considered an asset
- Strong technical background
- Ability to plan and analyze budgets, schedules and resources for engineering and construction efforts for selected projects
- Demonstrated problem solving ability involving analysis of problems and possible solutions, planning of corrective action, including cost estimates and review of alternates, creative thinking where new design is required
- Experience creating bid document packages including drawings and specifications
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently
- Proven mentoring experience with junior staff
- Good initiative, attention to details
- Effective team player with excellent interpersonal skills with team members and clients
- Proven to have a mature judgement and possess a positive, team oriented attitude
- Working knowledge of computer programs and web-based applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, AutoCAD
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
