The General Manager is responsible for all operational, administrative and financial activities within the de-icing facility according to procedures established by the company and government ruling, in a professional and safe manner. This position reports to Regional Director, Western Canada.
- Manage all the operations pertaining to de-icing, snow removal and maintenance;
- Ensure good management of the budget as well as operating costs and maintenance;
- Ensure application and respect of the standards and procedures concerning the operations, security, environment and maintenance of the installations and equipment;
- Ensure supply of materials and glycol management (reception, tests, delivery, disposal, mixing);
- Ensure compliance with the procedures related to communications and quality control;
- Respect the performance standards related to the operations;
- Participate in the hiring process , performance evaluation and training of new employees;
- Follow-up on training of the employees and participate when needed;
- Production of various reports pertaining to the operations and the environment;
- Investigates the root cause , provide reports and follow-up on incidents and accidents;
- Ensure a good relationship with the airline representatives and the airport authorities.
- Pursue other business opportunities at the station.
Special Requirements
- Proven expertise in de-icing operations and team management;
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar position or management position;
- Any other combination of education and experience may be considered;
- Knowledge of the requirements set forth by airline companies and airport authorities pertaining to de-icing procedures;
- Excellent knowledge of regulations set forth by Transport Canada, Federal Aviation Administration and Association of European Airlines;
