Cathay Pacific Canada is looking for an Airport Services Manager based in Toronto. The successful candidate will be a motivated leader for the Airport Services team. Reporting to the Vice President, Canada, this position provides airport operations expertise and support in leading a team of Airport Services Supervisors and Customer Services Agents to achieve its business objectives and high customer service levels in full compliance with the Cathay Pacific Vision, Mission and Values.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee the overall airport operations and suppliers by ensuring they meet Cathay Pacific’s standard policies, procedures and local and international safety standards;
  • Lead a current team of 30+ Customer Service Agents & 3 Airport Services Supervisors by motivating and creating an enjoyable and productive working environment that promotes and cultivates change, fosters excellent teamwork, and promotes a sense of commitment, reliability, and accountability;
  • Represent Cathay Pacific in airport-related activities and committees and develop and maintain good rapport with the Airport Authority, Customs and Immigration officials and other agencies;
  • Seek opportunities and make recommendations to improve operations, business processes, and information technology;
  • Manage daily activities to ensure compliance in the safe working environment and high levels of customer service are met from the internal team and suppliers;
  • Support and provide training and development to team members through formal and informal activities including role modeling, monitoring and on-the-job coaching;
  • Evaluate cost implications when making day-to-day operational decisions; ensure proper execution of the budget by monthly reviewing, tracking, and assessing budget spending;
  • Implement and maintain effective planning and allocation of resources;
  • Take a lead role in implementing change and ensuring continuous improvement;
  • Proactively prevent and manage flight disruptions and irregularities by ensuring the internal team has the capabilities to effectively handle Emergencies & Accidents;
  • Other projects as assigned
Skills, Qualifications and Requirements 
  • Minimum five (5) years of international airline operational / management experience;
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development skills with ability to motivate a diverse multicultural team;
  • University degree or equivalent in a related field is preferred;
  • Effective analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills to develop action plans for managing irregular operations and resolve complex issues;
  • Thorough understanding of Cathay Pacific’s airport processes, ability to be adaptable and committed to continuous improvement;
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong MS Office background;
  • Successful record in airport operations and high level of customer service when working with a diverse range of both internal and external customers;
  • Must be flexible given the 24/7 nature of airport operations;
  • Must have the right to live and work in Canada
