Discovery Air Fire Services is now accepting applications for Aerial Observers in support of our Imagery and our Fire Detection Programs for the Summer --typically early May to September.
Ideal Candidate
- Are a minimum of 18 years of age
- Have a valid Emergency First Aid certificate
- Possess a valid Class G Driver’s Licence
- Have the ability to obtain a valid Restricted Operator Certificate - Aeronautical
- Have the ability to read maps and use a GPS unit proficiently
- Have the ability to identify features, resources and landforms from the air and recognize possible smoke areas

Our Aerial Observers may scan for specific resources or to discover and report on forest fire activity based on pre-established client survey requirements.
At a minimum our Aerial Observers must be comfortable flying in small aircraft, under low level, slow air speeds and turbulent conditions for prologned periods of time. Additionally, Observers:
