Skills and Qualifications Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 year post secondary education.
  • Minimum of 4 years of operational airline experience and 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of Passenger Service, Cargo and Ramp Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Transport Canada regulatory issues, and have an understanding of interdepartmental functions within the airline industry.
  • Understanding of the Company Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Comprehension of the handling of Dangerous Goods.
  • Solid problem solving, organizational, decision-making and customer service skills, strong written and verbal Communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Must be proficient with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Superior knowledge of Sabre, knowledge of AIMS, AQD and Skyline.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and possibly on short notice.
  • Bilingualism considered an asset.
  • Instructor training knowledge and experience required (ITW).
  • Supervisory experience in the areas of Cargo, Ramp, and Passenger Services, considered an asset.
  • Ability to obtain and retain a Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.

Duties and Responsibilities Interested candidates should be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Responsible for providing the for oversight to development and delivery of QA and SMS for the Commercial Department.
  • Responsible for the development, maintenance and updating of internal audit checklists for the department.
  • Conduct random audits as part of the audit program, as requested by the Director or the Manager.
  • In conjunction with the Manager, Training & Standards, Ground Services, participate in the implementation, monitoring and standardization of existing and new training materials for the Commercial Department.
  • In conjunction with the Senior Manager, Airport Services, establish training curriculum to ensure compliance with all legislated requirements including Transport Canada, Transportation Security.
  • Set training standards and achieve goals and objectives as set forth by First Air's standards, policies and procedures
  • Ensure consistency of quality training by instructors.
  • Responsible for all departmental training schedules and scheduling training for Cargo & Ramp, Airport and Northern Stations.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of new products and services.
  • Act as an alternate Security Officer and assist with the APO program, Transportation Security Agency "No Fly List" and Transport Canada's Passenger Protect Program.
  • Perform duties for Emergency Response HQ Customer Relations Team Leader as an alternate.
  • In conjunction with the Revenue Management department, develop and implement Sabre enhancements, attend Conferences.
  • Responsible to review audit findings and observations to ensure training programs are effective and SOP's are being maintained.
  • Recommends and/or develops updates or new policies and procedures for Cargo & Ramp, Airport and Station Agents
  • Conduct an annual review with the instructors of all the manuals and training programs.
  • Participate in the annual budget process for training department.
  • Research the possibilities on online training for current programs for group training.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.
