You can make a difference in a company that gives you the complete latitude to deliver the best customer service.  We are currently hiring Pre-Board Screening Officers for the Winnipeg Airport, on a Part-Time basis with the potential for full time hours. Job Description: * The main responsibility is to ensure security of passengers and non-passengers processed at the Pre-Board Screening Checkpoint. * It is important to ensure that the screening of passengers is completed efficiently and pleasantly. * You would be responsible for screening passengers, non-passengers and their luggage prior to the boarding of the aircraft. * You are an ambassador for customer service and deal with passengers and stakeholders in a professional manner * Using screening equipment, you screen passengers and their baggage * Maintain the flow of passengers to influence efficiency * Report all incidents and/or breaches using established communication channels * Follow aviation regulations and standard operating procedures Job Benefits * Starting wage once certified to work independently: $20.13 per hour * Parking is provided, as a taxable benefit * Training and career development * Free training and uniform * Excellent benefits after 90 days Job Requirements * Must be a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident as defined in the Immigration Act with an employment authorization document * No previous criminal background for which a pardon has not been granted * 18 years of age or older * Willing and able to work outside regular working hours and able to work shifts * Have own transportation or access to public transit and access to reliable transportation outside of public transportation hours. * Be a high school graduate (GED accepted) * Ability to pass an enhanced security background check * Ability to pass a medical exam * Be able to identify colour, shapes, forms and features (e.g. X-ray images) * Have flexibility of motion including: * moderate lifting, pulling or pushing of bags/items weighing up to 10kg * ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time (20 minutes - 2 hours) * ability to bend, squat or kneel to perform searches * ability to reach above/below and level of shoulder for up to 20 minutes per hour * Successfully complete all training that is required Skill Requirements * Must have excellent communication skills; fluent in written and oral English * Must have a desire for service excellence and excellent customer service skills * Must have demonstrated good team work abilities and interpersonal skills * Ability to interact with various stakeholders such as air travellers and other airport employees * Ability to work under pressure * Ability to work with the public and deal with conflict resolution * A positive and professional attitude * Ability to work within a structured, highly regulated environment * Ability to maintain task concentration, attention to detail, observation and situational awareness Experience * Experience in the following areas are considered to be assets: * Security * Aviation * Customer Service * Training * Supervisory or Management Additional Notes: * If you are currently residing outside of the vicinity (80kms) of the job location, you must indicate your willingness to relocate or you will be automatically disqualified.
