Manager, Leadership Development

The Manager, Leadership Development, reporting to the Director, Organizational Development, is responsible for leadership assessments, succession management, and executive leadership development for the GTAA. Working in partnership with the Director, OD, the Manager, Leadership Development will select and implement assessment tools, conduct executive talent reviews, manage executive development programs, and will oversee the succession planning process for the GTAA. The ideal candidate for this role has the ability to build strong partnerships with GTAA executives and externally with our leadership development vendors. 

Job Description
Key Accountabilities: 
  • Select and implement leadership assessment tools and processes
  • Facilitate executive talent review sessions
  • Recommend and implement appropriate leadership development tools and programs
  • Manage and improve executive coaching and mentoring programs
  • Oversee the GTAA succession planning process, including the implementation of a succession management system in 2017
  • Facilitate leadership meetings from front-line manager to executive levels
  • Subject matter expert for senior leadership development
  • Manage additional projects as assigned

Job Requirements
Qualifications: 
  • Post-secondary diploma in business administration or human resources
  • 5+ years’ experience in a leadership development role, including vendor/partner management experience
  • 3+ years’ experience managing succession planning at an executive level
  • Minimum 5 years’ program management experience, preferably in a Human Resources role, with demonstrated experience working in a customer centric environment
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience working with a talent management system, preferably with a succession management module
  • 5+ years’ experience analyzing data, developing recommendations and creating presentations
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience and proficiency in using all Microsoft office applications
  • Valid G or G2 Provincial driver’s license required
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance
  • CHRP designation (obtained or in progress) considered an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
  • Expert-level executive coaching/relationship management skills
  • Strong facilitation skills with experience facilitating executive meetings
  • Advanced level project management skills with experience managing large scale enterprise-wide projects
  • Experience with developing and implementing programmatic solutions
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office suite products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
