Operations Manager- Mauritania (Africa)

Contract
The Operations Manager is responsible for all aviation activities within Mauritania. This position supervises all base operations, contract management activities, and departments and staff, and has ultimate responsibility for both short and long term business goals and strategies within Mauritania.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensuring that all employees within Mauritania align to the company vision, mission and code of conduct.

2. Providing guidance and leadership to all employees within the region and ensuring they have the means, ability and tools to fulfill their respective responsibilities.

3. Contracts

Coordinating, negotiating, conceiving, recommending and ensuring contract terms are respected by the various players.

4. Customer relationship management

Interacting with customers and managing the customer relationship. Overall responsibility for ensuring that client service expectations and needs are understood and exceeded. Protecting the company’s interests and maximizing opportunity for further business. Maintains an awareness of client perceptions of service delivery and identify action plans for improvement as required.

5. Employee relations

Overall responsibility for supervision, accountability and direction of all employees within Mauritania in conjunction with the respective directors and HR, in activities such as:

a. Selection & hiring & terminating

b. Orientation & training

c. Supervision and attendance management

d. Performance reviews

6. Productivity – cost control & efficiency

Overall responsibilities to maximize the level of output of his region by ensuring operating costs of the region are optimized.

Qualifications:
  • University, Bachelor’s – Business Administration or related field
  • Experience in staff management, and operations
  • Aviation experience is a strong asset, Corporate Aviation preferred
  • 10+ years in an operations role
  • Experience in Sales, Contracts Preferably in Commercial Pilot, AME, Airport Management
  • Bilingualism is an asset (French, English)
  • Leadership

  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong ability to lead and motivate employees
  • Organizational skills
  • High business acumen
