Reporting to the Director, Passenger Programs and Communications, this role develops and sets the stage for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority’s Innovation implementation efforts by seamlessly orchestrating the resources and processes that enable the CTS team to identify, articulate and execute new and innovative passenger experiences. The incumbent will observe, brainstorm and iterate with diverse groups of people with varied work backgrounds and across all levels of organizational hierarchy. They will be comfortable leading work and helping to shape a collaborative culture at the GTAA. By tracking and facilitating an innovation project’s progress, the Manager plays a key role in enhancing visibility and transparency around the implementation and innovation processes as well as engaging the rest of the organization and airport community in supporting Toronto Pearson programs.
Job Description
- Lead and build the design/innovation agenda and framework that will guide the collaboration of GTAA internally and with external stakeholders
- Build solid and effective relationships based on trust at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders
- Efficiently and effectively manage the approach, process and all dimensions of planning for and executing innovation projects
- Act as a change agent and develop and maintain strong communication channels
- Lead the execution of initiatives and projects that result from design/innovation labs
- Develop program documentation including workback schedules, briefs, RFPs, business cases, project approval and funding
- Play a leadership role in design/innovation labs to review and improve existing programs, services and processes yielding innovative outputs
- Facilitate design labs and brainstorm sessions and workshops as required
- Coordinate all design lab activity including scheduling, identifying and scheduling participants, establishing program schedules, provisioning tools and space, etc.
- Lead from conception to ideation to communication to implementation and planning to measuring outcomes – the incumbent is responsible for planning, guiding, documenting and implementing design/innovation outputs
- Establish and ensure adherence to workback schedules and manages budgets
- Responsible for developing and issuing post-project reporting
- Work with stakeholders to develop success metrics for implemented programs
Job Requirements Qualifications:
- Must have a post-secondary degree or diploma in communications, marketing, advertising or business
- Minimum five (5) years’ of concurrent experience leading complex projects in a multi-stakeholder environment from conception through ideation, communication, implementation, planning to measuring outcomes at project completion
- Minimum three to five (3-5) years’ of experience leading cross-functional teams in a highly collaborative environment
- Minimum of five (5) years’ of professional experience identifying and defining opportunities that helped to define strategy and create tangible output; Experience implementing those solutions
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to obtain a Transportation Security Clearance
