The Manager Station Operations - Atlantic Canada is responsible for developing - in line with the corporate goals the YHZ Airport Operations Customer Experience strategies as well as Atlantic Canada, detail the safety and business plans, policies, organizational structure, goals, responsibilities and metrics assuring Air Canada as the airline of choice. 
  • Responsible for directing Management & ATS personnel and for all customer service, ramp, and safety activities in YHZ and Atlantic Canada.
  • Ensures all costs and manpower is managed within the budget’s parameters for YHZ and Atlantic Canada.
  • Anticipates, identifies, and resolves safety, service and operational problems with a focus on safety.
  • Continually audits and monitors safety and operations.
  • Identifies staff training deficiencies and deliver training using multiple training methods including practical hands-on and class room training.
  • Communicates with managers and staff within all departments in YHZ and Atlantic Canada on an ongoing basis.
  • Makes independent and informed decision on operations and safety issues. Utilizes employee feedback related to problem resolution to ensure a team environment and employee co-operation.
  • Recognizes, evaluates, disciplines, coaches, motivates, and counsels personnel. Handles a diverse range of staffing issues.
  • Develops and executes the Station Safety and Environmental Plan for all areas of operation in YHZ. Reviews the Station Safety and Environmental Plans for Atlantic Canada stations.
  • Participates and chairs varied management/union committees including Health & Safety committee.
  • Manages the delivery of third party contracts within the parameters of the negotiated service level agreements.
  • Works with numerous outside agencies including Transport Canada, CATSA, Workers Compensation Board, HRDC, as well as several Airport Authorities on operational, safety and environmental issues.
  • Responsible to initiate and support the continuous improvement of Air Canada’s operational and safety programs as well as support those same activities.
  • Works with Corporate Resource Planning on all manpower related issues for YHZ and Atlantic Canada.
  • Acts as company representative for all schedule change & bidding activities. Works closely with individual shift committees to ensure that shift bid/implementation coincides with schedule changes.
  • Monitors and reacts to all schedule changes in YHZ and Atlantic Canada. 
  • Determines Airport Operations – YHZ & Atlantic Canada strategies, detailed safety and business plans, policies, organizational structure, goals, responsibilities and metrics.
  • Approves and allocate Airport Operations – YHZ and Atlantic Canada material, human & financial resources allocation and policies for Air Canada.
  • Implements & communicates Airport Operations – YHZ and Atlantic Canada strategies, detailed safety and business plans, policies, organizational structure, goals, responsibilities and metrics. 

Qualifications
  •  Minimum 2-year experience in a Customer Service Management related position
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skill
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership and negotiation skills 
  • Must have a solid operational track record 
  • Good conflict resolution skills
  • Must display personal strength and composure in stressful situations 
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours
  • Team player 
  • Ability to obtain RAIC, AVOP/DA
