Under the direction of the Manager, Creative and Communications Support, the incumbent will be responsible for the provision of creative design services including: graphic design and layout, artwork, editing, photography, videography and the general coordination related to the production of public relations materials and publications.
Job Description Key Accountabilities:
- Production of public relations materials and publications which includes corporate newsletters, reports, brochures, TorontoPearson.com corporate website, employee portal, social media channels, promotional materials, directional/informational/regulatory signage, special displays, and videos and PowerPoint presentations.
- Work with editors-in-chief of corporate publications and project leads/communications advisors, and will provide writing and editing services for corporate materials.
- Assist in various media, community and employee relations activities and events.
- Responsible for performing other related duties as required.
Job Requirements Qualifications:
- Must have a Post-secondary school diploma/degree in Art and Design, and/or in Public Relations/Communications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Industry experience or industry related experience (aviation, transportation, etc.).
- Two (2) years of experience in general communications involving art and design and public relations.
- Must have experience in developing and carrying out communication programs in a corporate environment and have proven experience in a PC and Mac environment using Adobe (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Adobe Premiere Pro or the equivalent, and Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Must have demonstrated creative design experience within a corporate or agency environment including desktop design and layout.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to use the following design and publication based software and programs including: Adobe CC (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Adobe Premiere Pro or the equivalent, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent creative writing/editing skills of a public relations nature, skills in the field of videography will be considered an asset.
- Must have skills in project management/coordination and tracking including, an understanding of the production process.
- Must have the ability to work independently, prioritize, meet deadlines and possess multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent oral, written and listening communication skills as well as the creative ability as it relates to writing and design (print and online).
- Fluency in French (written and spoken) will be considered an asset. A written test may be administered as part of this competitive process.
