Reporting to the Manager, Security Operations Control this position is responsible for planning and support activities for Security Operations Control (SOC) within the Governance, Corporate Safety & Security department (GCSS). This position will ensure that the activities of SOC are undertaken in accordance with both regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Job Description
- Responsible for reviewing GCSS plans, developing and implementing SOC processes and standard operating procedures
- Development, coordination and facilitation of training programs for SOC
- Implement and monitor a quality control program
- Participate in awareness briefings for various programs
- Provide support to the Manager, Security Operations Control
- Support the requirement for new systems as determined by Security Infrastructure
- Plan, commission, assess and activate pilot projects for the benefit of SOC
- Assist GCSS in the investigation of occurrences and the development of corrective actions; while keeping a focus on SeMS risk assessment and root cause analysis
- Remain current as a Security Operations Control Specialist
- Execute the development, planning, scheduling and coordination of annual GTAA tabletop and full scale emergency exercises
- Security Whiteboard administrator (software program)
- Ensure the internal portal is up to date by engaging other departments, and keeping staff informed
Job Requirements Qualifications:
- Must have a post-secondary diploma or degree
- Must have an APCO Telecommunicator Certification
- Other certifications considered an asset; Radio Operator License, Pilots License
- Must have five (5) years of experience working in Security Operations/Airport Operations
- Must have one (1) year of experience with security systems and emergency dispatch
- Experience with projects that require interaction with external departments will be considered an asset
- Experience writing standard operational procedures will be considered an asset
- Experience coordinating and facilitating training will be considered an asset
- Must be able to obtain Security Clearance from Transport Canada
- Must have a valid provincial license and be able to obtain a D/A AVOP
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have explicit knowledge of access control systems
- Must have technical and operational expertise of closed circuit television systems
- Knowledge of master dispatch systems (Eg: Zetron software)
- Knowledge of Perspective system including the ability to learn from historical analysis.
- Knowledge of security plans and associated standard operating procedures
- Knowledge of physical security including door hardware, security barriers, key control process, etc
- Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Security Regulations and Aerodrome Security Measures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to facilitate training sessions
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build working relationships
- Ability to assess and analyze information and produce statistical information to support changes to processes
- Understanding the importance of customer service and the benefits of providing at high level while maintaining security standards
- Knowledge of SeMS Risk Assessment process
- Ability to liaise with the air carriers, senior GTAA management and other agencies.
- Must be proficient in the use of all MS Office software programs
