| You are a skilled pilot or AME with previous Base Manager experience seeking an opportunity to utilize your skills in the Yellowknife area. As Base Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance of Summit Helicopters aircraft and personnel assigned to the Yellowknife base, including pilots, engineers, apprentices, and administrative staff. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with current and potential customers in the Yellowknife area, as Summit Helicopters continues to develop its business in the region. Responsibilities Perform flight duties in the capacity of pilot or AME, as required Oversee and manage the operation and safety of flight operations at the base Report all incidents, accidents and unsafe operations and make appropriate recommendations Develop and implement crew and engineer work schedules in order to support aircraft operations Provide crews with adequate means for flight planning purposes and operations within the area, including position of fuel caches, radio frequencies and any special procedures in effect Direct and participate in business development activities including developing and advancing existing long-term relationships with clients and identification of new target clients Manage and participate in client, community and professional events, including industry trades shows, in order to promote the Summit Aviation group Liaise with airport authority and clients to ensure their needs are satisfied May perform other related duties as required Requirements Current Canadian CPL(H), ATPL(H); OR M1 or M2 rated AME License Minimum 3 years of experience in the Canadian helicopter industry, ideally with some experience as a base manager For Pilots: Endorsement and 100 hours PIC on the following types: Bell 407 and Bell 206 For AMEs: Type training on the following types: Bell 407 and Bell 206 Previous experience in marketing or business development Knowledge of the business climate in the local Yellowknife area and the North would be a significant asset Self-starter with excellent organizational and planning skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities Desire to enhance management, leadership, coaching, interpersonal, and problem solving skills Proven ability to develop and strengthen business relationships, with strong customer service skills Knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting would be an asset Work Conditions Irregular hours including evenings and weekends depending on client schedules Position will be based in Yellowknife Summit Helicopters, a member of the Ledcor Group of Companies, delivers helicopter aviation solutions with one of the largest and most diverse fleets in the industry.
