Air Canada Rouge - Training Support Specialist

Reporting to the Manager, Fleet and Training Efficiency the Training Support Specialist is responsible for the following functions:
- Coordinate and organize all required information for pilot’s transition from Air Canada to Air Canada rouge
- Act as point of contact for Air Canada rouge pilots in training or on the line, assisting with questions and feedback, directing them to applicable sources for different items
- Overseeing student progress through company indoctrination and transition course training from position award through till qualification. Liaising with sim planners, Chief Pilots, Training Managers to ensure efficient progress through courses and adherence to target footprint. Advise availability to Line Indoctrination to the Manager, Fleet and Training Efficiency
- Schedule, Coordinate and facilitate rouge Company Conversion and Differences training for pilots transitioning to Air Canada rouge
- Maintain inventory of required items for Company Conversion and Differences Training, placing orders when required
- Liaise with Air Canada Training Coordinators to ensure they monitor Air Canada rouge pilots FOM and CARs recency. Ensure communication for action is provided to Air Canada rouge pilots and provide guidance and oversight to AC Training Coordinators when required. Ensure extensions are coordinated with Chief Pilots, Type.
- Oversee and track completion of training (QC, CQ, RLCs, ART) to ensure all planned training is accomplished successfully. Also track matrix cycles to ensure they are completed and forecasted properly. Routinely conduct audits on Pilot Qualification Records against spreadsheet to ensure accuracy and oversight. On behalf of Chief Pilots, Type liaise with Air Canada crew records department and oversee the management of crew records and qualification tracking for Air Canada rouge pilots
- Track lists of ACPs completed events using the training emails to be used for Transport Canada Audits and IOSA
- Forecast required ART sessions for each base and advise Rouge Inflight yearly requirements. Ensure Air Canada sim planners coordinate combined requirements for joint training with rouge inflight and post available dates for pilots. Provide oversight and guidance to Air Canada Sim Planners to ensure ART is scheduled prior to Monthly Block Closing for anyone due in current month
- Maintain organization and overall view of rouge SharePoint sites for Airbus and Boeing fleets
- Provide oversight and ensure communication of any script changes are sent to Air Canada Training Managers and Air Canada rouge Approved Check Pilots.
- Maintain up to date and current New Hire and Transition Training Information packages. Revise when required if procedures and/or positions change and upload to applicable destinations. Update Crew Planning info letters when required with updated procedures
- Provide oversight and maintain organization/information on Air Canada rouge Airbus and Boeing training web pages.
- Revise and distribute multiple contact lists to crew scheduling, rouge management etc. Update with pilots training on and off of rouge fleets
- Track Air Canada rouge pilot numbers and revise with pilots training on and off rouge fleets. Distribute to applicable rouge Management and VP, Operations
- Complete transition training pay template monthly based on pilots in training to rouge
- Participate in Equipment Brief with Air Canada Training Managers. Provide New Hire Pilots required information and direction to begin training to their awarded Aircraft and Air Canada rouge
- Conduct a monthly check of Due Lists prior to the last day of the month to ensure all pilots are current and qualified to operate. Advise of any uncertainties
- Assist Air Canada rouge Management and team in Audits (internal, IOSA, TC etc.) when time and duties permit. Provide required information and lists for Transport Canada Inspections when required and have ability to speak to Approved Check Pilot currency and qualifications
- Provide recommendations when evident to Manager, Standard, Training and Flight Technical for FCTM revisions
- Track Additional Training requirements through communication with Mainline Training Manager and ACPA ATO notices for pay purposes and potential course delays. Communicate any delays with required departments
- Track assignments and completion of online training for Initial, Transition and Recurrent Training. Track completion of any required one off courses.
- Provide required assistance and coverage for Air Canada rouge, Manager, Fleet and Training Efficiency during higher volume periods as well as coverage during any absences. Provide support to Manager, Fleet and Training Efficiency and CPs, Type in the scheduling and administration of the rouge ACP team
- Assist Air Canada rouge, Manager, Fleet and Training Efficiency when required in covering day to day operational changes to training and coordinate coverage with Crew Scheduling
- Provide assistance and information to Air Canada employees when dealing with Air Canada rouge Operations and Training
- Other duties as may be assigned by Manager, Fleet and Training Efficiency
Qualifications
- Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Aviation Management or related field, University of College diploma preferred
- Formal Training in Safety Management – must be completed within 6 months of appointment (provided by Air Canada rouge)
- Great computer skills. Thorough working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel and electronic mail
- Dedication and care to the company and position with a strong desire for overall operational success
- Excellent organizational and planning skills. Proven ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently or in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to keep and monitor records effectively
- Excellent interpersonal, time management and problem solving skills
- Detail oriented and ability to work in a deadline based operation
- Previous experience working with Collective Agreements, Company Policies and familiarity with Government Regulations in regards to Aviation
- Strong focus on continuous improvement and achievement of objectives while maintaining positive relationships both within and outside of the work group
- Previous Scheduling experience a preferred asset
- Familiarity with Scheduling and Pilot Qualifications programs an asset
- Previous Airline and/or Operational experience an asset
