The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA), a Crown corporation responsible for security screening at airports across Canada, has an exciting permanent opportunity within the Finance branch: Manager, External Reporting  About the job  The Manager, External Reporting is responsible for managing CATSA’s accounting and financial reporting, capital asset financial management services and related reporting requirements in support of the various branches as well as managing the development of policies and processes to support the financial reporting. The incumbent is also responsible for managing the liaison with the external auditors in support of the annual audit, and managing the quarterly and annual financial reporting process. The incumbent manages and coaches a team of four members and leads the group towards the achievement of corporate and branch objectives. What you need to succeed  To qualify for the position, you must have:  A degree from a recognized university with specialization in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or another specialty relevant to the duties of the position;  A Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation;  A minimum of five (5) years of post-professional accounting experience;  A minimum of three (3) years of experience leading teams;  Significant experience in a financial reporting environment, preparing the MD&A and financial statements under IFRS;  Experience leading and preparing quarterly financial reports under the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) Standard on Quarterly Reports for Crown Corporations;  Experience supporting the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures, processes and controls;  Experience in planning and completing audit engagements as an external auditor, and/or experience in working with external/internal auditors;  Expert knowledge of IFRS and associated financial concepts, principles and practices;  Strong knowledge of PSAS and associated financial concepts, principles and practices;  Experience analyzing and drafting position papers in accordance with IFRS and PSAS and dealing with complex accounting matters and transactions;  Expert knowledge of International Accounting Standards (IAS) 16 “Property, Plant and Equipment” and experience managing the capital accounting process in a complex capital project environment, including experience working closely with the capital stakeholders outside the Finance branch to provide insight on accounting and reporting requirements;  Experience analyzing new initiatives and preparing reports to demonstrate the broad implications on Finance;  Strong knowledge of principles and concepts associated with financial controls and accountability.  Language Profile: Bilingual (BBBB)  Skills and abilities  Ability to lead and motivate teams; ability to engage others;  Ability to understand client needs and liaise and negotiate effectively;  Ability to analyze and problem-solve; ability to propose well thought out solutions;  Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;  Tact, diplomacy and discretion;  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;  Ability to multi-task and identify priorities.  How to apply  If you feel you are the ideal candidate for this position, please click on the following link to submit your application before October 31, 2016 by 23h59 EST.
