Manager Safety Services


DEPARTMENT: Safety Services

LOCATION: Mississauga

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Manager Safety Services, shall oversee the management of all the Safety Reporting activity on behalf of the Safety Office, ensuring that all reports receive the appropriate level of assessment, and that safety information is communicated appropriately to all levels of the company to facilitate a timely resolution to issues and trends which have an impact on the safety performance of the airline. The position will also be responsible for the FDA program, liaising with the Air Canada Flight Data Analysis group to ensure that FDA data is incorporated into the rouge safety program.


Key Functions and Accountabilities:

Manage the development and distribution of safety review documents and provide regular monthly reports on safety occurrences, hazards and associated trends to the Air Canada rouge Director Safety, Security & Environment
Direct, manage and conduct activities to identify, analyze, and investigate flight safety occurrences, hazards and latent risks.
Conduct root cause analysis on all Safety Events;
Develop Corrective Action & Hazard Mitigation Proposals as a result of incident assessments;
Conduct training for operational departments on Hazard Identification, Root Cause Analysis & Risk Management;
Conduct Risk Assessments, acting as a Risk Assessment Facilitator for Operational Departments;
Manage and oversee the process to provide de-identified safety report data and summaries to internal departments and external agencies as requested;
Manage all Safety Reports, Category Incidents and occurrence assessments;
Manage professional relationships amongst Transport Canada, TSB and rouge concerning safety projects, work and policy development within Canada;
Provide safety and investigative support to the Manager Quality & Investigations in the event of an incident or accident.


Knowledge and Skills Required:


Post- Secondary Education
Human Factors & Root Cause Analysis training an asset;

(Must be completed within 1 year of joining the company)
