POSITION: Central Baggage Coordinator REPORTING TO: Central Baggage Manager LOCATION: Lester B. Pearson International Airport OVERALL OBJECTIVES: The Central Baggage Coordinator will provide support to Sunwing Airlines Airport network related to Lost and Found activities. This role will be responsible for secondary baggage tracing as well as assisting passengers through the claim process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Central Baggage tracing & YYZ station tracing – all duties entailed therein.
- Physical work required
- Able to lift up to 32kg (70bls)
- Respond to all phone calls and emails related to the position
- Maintain baggage database/tracing system World Tracer up-to-date
- Keep passengers & stations updated on status of their file/claim
- Maintain up to date records of all baggage issues
- Update statistics & reports as required
- Research and responds to customer service complaints
- Other duties as required
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years airport experience, preferably supervisory or similar aviation experience
- High school graduation diploma or equivalent
- Strong competency in the English language, both oral and written
- Second language French or Spanish is considered an asset
- Ability to obtain an Airport Restricted Area Pass issued by Transport Canada
- Mature, courteous and professional manner
- World Tracer qualified an asset
- Ability to resolve problems
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong customer service skills
ENVIRONMENT AND SCOPE:
- Ability to work shifts hours
- Ability to work holiday, weekend and overnight shifts
- Able to work individually but still be part of a team
- Fast paced, deadline oriented work environment
