Employee Relations Associate
Greater Toronto Airports Authority

Full-time, Permanent
Reporting to the Manager, Employee Relations, the Associate, Employee Relations position is responsible for providing support to the Employee Relations team as it relates to employee relation matters, policy development, presentations and job aids, as well as for being responsible for Leave and Attendance management, as it relates to Kronos and the leave administration within the Collective Agreements. The ideal candidate for this role has the ability to work in a collaborative team environment, build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and is very customer service and results oriented.

Job Description
  • Support assigned administrative facets of employee relations which includes: preparing routine letters for the Senior Advisors, Employee Relations to review and finalize; provide administrative support in arbitration preparation; coordinating grievances and Union/Management Consultation meetings; assisting in the preparation of employee assignment and job evaluation (JEC) change letters, preparing presentations and job aids, etc.
  • Provide status updates on employee relation related letters, grievance responses, reports, and meetings (grievance, regular union/management meetings)
  • Participate in investigative interviews and drafting questions and briefings, as required
  • Coordinate and administer payouts, historical edits, accrual adjustments, union leaves, etc. through Kronos (time keeping system)
  • Ensure service levels are maintained, jointly with the Senior Advisors, Employee Relations
  • Assist in policy development as it relates to researching, benchmarking and drafting policies 
  • Administer the probation process, which includes following up with managers on probation status, preparing letters to confirm successful probation, ensure Probation documentation is completed by Manager and submitted to Human Resources for filing
    Participate in continuous improvement and project initiatives 
  • Ensure adherence to Human Resources policies, processes, legislation and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) 
  • Work with the Manager and Senior Advisors to respond to questions, as it relates to the CBAs and/or Employee relations questions 
Job Requirements 
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business or related field is required 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of administration work in a Human Resources role, with demonstrated experience working in a customer centric environment 
  • CHRL designation in progress, as well as policy development experience, are considered assets 
  • Two (2) years’ experience analyzing data, creating and maintaining reports 
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience and proficiency in using all Microsoft office applications
  • Minimum one (1) years’ experience administrating, maintaining an HR system, such as Kronos, and/or area of employee relations
  • Valid G Provincial driver’s license required
